MTB racing... and other stuff...

Eian, Josh R. and I(Larry) are racing at Fairhill this weekend. I have never done a mountain bike race in my life. I would hesitate to say I can actually ride a mountain bike well enough to race it. We shall see. I am racing cat 2 singlespeed. Josh and Eian are racing cat 2 30-39. FML

So the cyclocross season is essentially over. There are some fun races being held here and there such as the Tussle at the Trestle(1-29-12) near 8th and Brown st, but we are mostly now just waiting for next August when grass track Mondays and cross practice Wednesdays start up again. We all had a really enjoyable season. A typical season contains a little to a lot of pain, joy, misery, triumph, and general happiness. I can easily say we experienced all of these feelings and more. My hand still hurts from October now that I think of it. We all had a pretty long season racing twice a weekend at times from early September to late December. I think it is safe to say that we all got better at racing from the previous season. We managed to string together a good number of top 10 finishes which will see a few of us upgrade next year.

2012 = getting through winter on our trainers and mountain bikes, welcoming new members, some road racing, and mountain bike racing to keep us sharp for cross season. Stoked!
